A List Of Fantasy Books: Some Reads For If You Are In A Slump

Hello my fellow readers! I decided that I should list some of my favorite Fantasy reads for any of you who are in a reading slump! I will be giving a brief description of the book, the title, and if it has swearing/violence/etc.

All of these books are also no-spice or closed door, and some may have some swearing and violence, but other than that, these books are good! (I will be stating which ones have violence, swearing, etc.)

THE BOOKS

Shadow And Bone by Leigh Bardugo - Some Swearing & A Lot Of Violence, No Spice

This is a YA Dark Fantasy that is about Alina Starkov, an ordinary soldier of Ravka… until she releases a bright burst of light while in The Fold, a big swath of darkness with terrible creatures.

Renegades by Marissa Meyer - Some Swearing & A Lot Of Violence, No Spice

This is a YA Dark Fantasy-Sci-fi that is about Nova, a villain with the power to put people to sleep, and Adrian, the son of one of the first superheroes– anything he draws can become reality. It is set in a dystopian-esque society.

Dragonfruit by Makiia Lucier - Minimal Swearing & Some Violence, No Spice

This is a YA Fantasy that is about Hanalei and Sam. The story is set in a cluster of Pacific Islands, and Hanalei is a seadragon researcher, former nobility in the country that Sam is from– he is the grandson of the queen.

Bravely by Maggie Stiefvater - No Swearing & Mild Violence, No Spice

This is a YA Fairytale Retelling that takes Disney’s Brave and sets them years after the conflict of the movie, where Merida has one chance to save her home from ruin from Feradach, the god ruin. She winds up in a bargain with him and the Cailleach, goddess of Scotland.

What The Rivers Knows by Isabel Ibañez - Some Swearing & Violence, Iffy Moments

This is a YA Historical Fantasy that centers around Inez, a young woman who goes to Egypt after her parent’s death, against her uncle’s wishes, and thus winds up a part of his archaeological crew. Whitford Hayes, her uncle’s assistant, also has a few chapters, which is where on Iffy Moment takes place, but remains non-explicit.

I know that this is a bit of a short blogpost, but I’ve been having some burnout when it comes to my blog at the moment, and I’m making some (slow) progress in my Dialogue Mini-Series, but I didn’t want to rush it.

So yeah, make sure to check out some of my other blog posts and my YouTube channel in the meantime!
